This morning we had a power failure and the UPS failed (typical). Anyway when we came to switch the server on we get all green lights, on the front of the server and on all the HD’s, there 5 disks in 2 raids. But we got no output to the monitor.

We then removed to cover and booted up, the motherboard status lights are all green as well as the fans, PSU and SCSI configuration LED’s but still no output to the monitor.

We then moved the CPU from slot 1 to slot 2 and we got the red LED on the front so we put it back. Then we removed all the memory and booted up and we get the beeps to say there’s no memory install.

We then switch it on and left it on for about 20 minutes and noticed that the green arrows on the HD’s in raid 0 would come on for about 4 -5 minutes, then they would go off and the green arrows on the other disks in the other raid would come on for the same time period and go off and vice versa.

We started to think that the VGA port on the back was faulty, we have already swapped TFT’s and getting the same issue. We have order a new PCI-X graphics card hoping that this could be the problem. But this does not explain what is happening to the raid arrays. If anybody has any idea what could be going on or what could be faulty I would be most grateful.
