I have a machine with an older GeForce2 MX which sometimes the monitor works, and other times it does not. I recently tried to install an old Gateway graphics card which was the card from the factory and no display happens. One time, I pushed the GeForce2 in the slot more and then tried to boot it up and it worked. When I took it to my client's home, it then did not want to display.
I have tried everything from different voltages, different cables, the two different graphics cards, and everything else and I cannot for the life of me figure out why it works sometimes and sometimes not (mostly not).

I don't mean to be a hardnose but I question the word client that you refer to. If I interpet correctly you are performing computer repair. Is this correct? Are these cards AGP? You are aware there are different types of AGP? What happens when the cards don't work, black screen?
