Display screen shows 6 systems running

April 29, 2011 at 18:29:51
Specs: Windows Vista, Intel Core 2 Duo Processor
Acer Aspire 5720
Intel Core 2
Windows Vista
GeForce 8400m GS 256MB

Following a blue screen and a reboot the display shows what appears to be 6 screens running with 6 mouse pointers
I have tried reformatting but still have the same screen
Is the video card shot ?
Is this a recoverable problem?

Is each screen the same view or each a different portion of your desktop? When you move your mouse do all six pointers move?

I have only seen this type of problem once and in the end it was the video card that was to blame. I am told you should try another monitor and reseating the video card you have as well as updating your vid drivers although since you have reformatted I don't see why that would make a difference.

The only time I have seen this problem is when the refresh rate has been set to high for the monitor to handle but tat has only been with a CRT monitor. It should not happen with an LCD monitor.

If you have installed the correct drivers and it still occurs then it looks like your video card is shot.
