Whenever I restart I get several messages about hardware installation needed for a new device "display." I didn't install a new device and when I check the device manager I often have several (2-10) "unknown device" displayed with a "!" sign on them. I uninstall them and everything is fine until the next time I restart and they appear again along with the numerous hardware installation popups. It's always a guess as to how many there will be, but there's always more than one. It’s more annoying than anything, but I’m beginning to think it may be a virus or a worm or something?? Can anyone help me get rid of these?!

It's not a virus. You need to install the device drivers. Did you recently reinstall Windows?
