Specs: win xp sp 2, 512 mb ram
my compap evo n610c laptop started by a bringing a blue screen which wrote at the bottom, 'dumping physical memory'. After cold booting it I get da message, 'disk read error press ctrl+alt+del to restart. Restarting gets me back to the same place even when I press f8 to go to safe mode. I have tried pressing f10 to load bios but then the keyboard typing keys refuse to type the administrator password. I tried a USB and PS2 keyboard with no success. Removing the cmos battery could not remove the password. Please help.

With that error message and the fact that you can't access safe mode either, tells me your hard drive is shot. If you have recovery disks, you could try those, or a recovery partition, but if it can't read the drive, you're out of luck.
