I have a PC that keeps breaking down on me, using an Asus A7V600X motherboard AMD Barton 2800 with 512mg DDR2 and 128mb DDR Graphics. I keep getting a disk error on it, and I have to insert the windows XP disk, start of as if I'm going to install then tell it to repair. I've already replaced the HDD twice, so I'm ruling that out of the equation. Could it be the motherboard thats at fault or is it likely to be the CPU? I have had to run the CPU stepped down to 900mHz recently.
I built this machine myself and has been running for a few years with no problems whatsoever, but now it runs for a few weeks then refuses to boot until I follow the procedure I've listed above, I've even did a full format and reinstal as well. Now though, I can't even get past Windows is inspecting my set up.
