i was helping my friend on this, and she doesn't really
know english.so,here is the question.
she was using windows xp, and she want to use the
mac osx, so she tried to do that, and after restart the
computer, and doing those wizard things, she couldn't
find her cd drive any more. so this is the first thing,
and also, when she tried to use the mac osx, it
shows the startup screen and then just a sign which
just like the "no parking "sign on the road, but black.
the sign just stood above the apple icon. and the
screen just stops there. plz help me.

You should have posted your Topic on the MAC forum on this site. However, most people who answer here know things about PC computers, not MACs or MAC operating systems, so you may be better off submitting your problem on some other web site.
e.g. One guy who recently responded to a similar situation to hers said "try the hackintosh forums" - whatever that is, it's probably related to making a PC computer work with the MAC OS. .

I know very little about Apple computers or MAC operating systems, but I have learned some things that indicate it can be difficult to install the MAC operating system on a PC computer, especially if the MAC operating system doesn't have the drivers for some of the mboard's components(hardware; chips) , or if it does have support if it doesn't find the components automatically, she or you may need to use a non-default procedure in order for the MAC operating system to be able to find the components and load drivers for the components.

I can help you/her only a limited amount.

There are lots of hardware components used on PC computers or with PC computers that have no MAC drivers available for them, unless the MAC operating system has those built into it.

We need to know...

- what is the make and model of brand name computer, or the make and model of the motherboard if it's a generic system?
- is it a laptop or a desktop computer?

- why did she want to use the MAC operating system rather than XP?
- was she having problems with XP or with the computer in general? If so, we need descriptions of what her problems were. Most problems with the XP operating system have known solutions we can tell you/her about how to fix them.
There may be something wrong with her computer that has nothing to do with the operating system, and changing which operating system she uses won't fix that.
- if she is getting messages other than just the "no parking" icon, she/you should tell us exactly what she's seeing.

Apparently there is a procedure you can do near the beginning of installing OS X that allows it to detect at least some components on a PC computer it doesn't detect by default.
There was a Topic here recently about someone trying to install OS X on a HP computer model, and that feature helped him get OS X working better on that computer (got the Realtek chipset sound working), but unfortunately the guy who posted it and some who responded violated this site's rules (abusive language) and that Topic (thread; string of posts) was deleted. He also had to find MAC drivers for the network adapter (Realtek chipset) . Apparently Realtek doesn't have MAC drivers available for their sound chipsets (or for the majority of their networking chipsets), but the MAC OS did have the drivers for his Realtek sound chipset, once the non-default procedure was followed.

Generally, for most PC computers...
- there are MAC drivers for a small number of network adapters/cards primarily used in PCs, some drivers for video cards / onboard video chipsets, some drivers for printers, scanners, etc. primarily used with PCs, available from the maker of the chipset's or the device's web site.
- there are no drivers for many PC mboard main chipsets available from the maker of the chipset's web site - e.g. Intel has none - if the MAC OS doesn't have them built in, the OS can't recognize the main chipset properly.
- the makers of PC mboards or brand name PC systems generally do not have any MAC drivers for the components of the mboard or other components of the computer system on their web sites - if the MAC OS doesn't have the drivers built in, the OS can't recognize the components properly.

You're asking software questions in the hardware forum. Try asking in the Mac forum.
