Oright guys

I Think ive well and truly fracked my PC up as I can not get it to boot at all. I press the power button and it starts to load but gets to the Abit motherboard screen and then just freezes and no key strokes work at all.

After about 4-5minutes is comes up with this error
"Verifying DMI pool Data"
"DISK BOOT FAILURE,INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER"

Ive tryed installing the windows CD with no luck as the enter button does not work and ive check the wires and everthing is connected correctly. So im kind of at a loss on whats gone wrong due to it working pefectly last night.

One theory would be is that about 4 days ago I ran a partition software as I was going to set up duel boot with windows 7, anways to cut a long story short I didnt get around to installing it but system worked perfectly after the partition was created.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

It sounds like it is taking to long to get to the Verifying DMI pool Data. Are you sure the power supply is working 100%.

After reaching this point ...checking the dmi,,,,Cmos battery seems ok as the boot continues ...not finding the boot information leads me to believe.

Looking in A: no joy
Looking in D: no joy
Looking in C: no joy

Are any of these drives powering up?
Try a bootable floppy then a bootable cd.

Then try disconnecting them (A: + D:) and see if C: will boot

I would also open note pad and then open the boot.ini file on c:. A bit tough to do unless you can get a boot disk to work in a: or d:.

See what and if it is looking for a second OS.

Sounds like there isn't enough power to run the key board either. So I am still thinking power loss.

Probably a problem with the hard drive. Is it SATA or IDE? Go into cmos/bios setup and make sure they're properly identified--usually as AUTO--and enabled. While you're in cmos/bios setup disable the abit logo screen and have it show the diagnostic/posting screen. That way you can tell what, if any, drives it's finding.

It's probably hanging while trying to find a drive and that's why the cdrom button and keyboard won't work either--the bios locks out everything else while it's looking for the hard drive.
