Comment:

A friend of mine has bought a new laptop, it seems he wasn't supplied with a windows XP CD and he was told that the recovery files are on the hard disk. Of course if the hard disk fails he's stuck. I assume myriads of people are in this position. Is it possible to backup the recovery partition on DVD or external hard disk and use that backup in case of hard disk failure? Has anyone successfully done that?
