disabling onboard sound on intel mo

Can someone tell me how to disable the onboard sound on my Pentium 2 intel AL440LX motherboard - I want to test a sound card in the motherboard - I assume I need to disable the on board sound. Thanks DaveB

Open the users guide and find out which of the BIOS sections it is in. Ususally Hardware Setup. Disable On-Board Sound.

Have you tried just plugging it in? Many will disable by themselves. Jimi_l

If you have the mobo manual, it should detail what you have to do. As Brian advises, you may have to make a change in the bios. Alternatively you may have to move a jumper. Good luck - keep us posted.
