Can someone tell me how to disable the onboard sound on my Pentium 2 intel AL440LX motherboard - I want to test a sound card in the motherboard - I assume I need to disable the on board sound.

Thanks

Open the users guide and find out which of the BIOS sections it is in. Ususally Hardware Setup.

Disable On-Board Sound.

Have you tried just plugging it in? Many will disable by themselves.

If you have the mobo manual, it should detail what you have to do.

As Brian advises, you may have to make a change in the bios. Alternatively you may have to move a jumper.

Good luck - keep us posted.
