I should have known better. I've had trouble with NTI Cd Creator 6.0 every time I've installed it.
Last time was a fiasco.
I had it installed, but for whatever reason, every time I tried to use it, I would have to re-install. It would work, and next time...re-install.
I tried to burn a disk, and couldn't do it, so I installed Roxio Ezcd Creator 5.0
Got them both on there no problem
When I rebooted, though, I couldn't. I don't mean I could go into safe mode, or restore or anywhere. It would go halfway through the bootup, and bluescreen.
I finally gave up, and figured I'd have to format my drive. Started to install XP with the bootdisks, and as soon as it got done with the last disk, it booted into W2k.
Unfortunately I still have no supported CD-Rom drives.
Both the CD-Rom and burner detect in bios.
Both show in my device manager with a ! because it can't initialize drivers.
I have reinstalled drivers, uninstalled and reinstalled the drives, unhooked one at a time, deleted upper and lower filters in the registry, uninstalled both burn programs.
I have no idea what else to try.
Thanks for your help.

I don't understand! Are you running XP, Win2K, both or something else?

When I tought I'd have to format, I was going to go back to XPpro, therefor the Xp boot disks. However, once the 6 bootdisks were installed,on the final reboot before going to the CD, it booted all the way into W2K

If you are using a brand new CD burner with older burning software then you will encounter the 'No supported CD recorder' error, to correct this download the latest update for your burning software.

This CD-Rom and burner have been in this box for months, no, more like a year or so. NTI caused the problem. Bigger problem is that even after I uninstalled both NTI and Ezcd creator AND deleted the filters in the registry, it STILL acts exactly like it would if the filters were still there.
I don't even HAVE any burning software on this computer right now. I'm still trying to get windows to initialize the drivers. Even going through the windows site and updating drivers there doesn't work. Even unhooking the burner and trying to JUST initialize the CD Rom driver doesn't work.
