Greetings! I'm new here, but I need help from someone... please? :D
I recently purchased a 3DProphet 9700Pro for my computer, after seeing my flatmate running his I just thought - Wow! Want one!. However, there's something desperately wrong :( I'm running the 9700 on an Asus A7N8X-X and my framerate and benchmarking scores are appalling! Lowest settings on Doom3 = 20-30fps, Lowest settings on X2 = 20-25fps.. likewise for other games like CS-Source, ST-Kotor etc etc.
I've used the latest drivers from ATI/Omega/DNA and also used previous versions.. still no joy, just really really poor performance. Anyone got any ideas? :( Thanks!

I know your motherboard is 8X agp and should auto detect your new card, but have you checked in the bios to make sure it 8X.

this is my stock reply in these situations, but you'd be surprised how often people haven't installed the drivers for their mobo. This can make a huge difference as without it you'll only be getting AGP 1x, no fast writes, etc.
I believe your mobo has a VIA chipset, so you would need to install the latest hyperion drivers from www.viaarena.com
Also if you can run 3dmark 2001 or 2003, it would be easier to gauge how well your card is performing, as I've never used the Doom 3 or X2 benchmarks.
