I just my own system:
mobo ASUS A7N8X Deluxe NForce2
AMD 2400+
1GB Ram
ATI 9800Pro
Windows XP SP1I took the speakers from my old system, Boston Acoustics 7500. It is a five speaker set up, two front, two rear, with a bass box. The whole thing only has one connection to the computer, from the computer to the bass box, then wires run from that to the front and rear speakers. In my old system (Gateway w/Sound Blaster live card) I just hooked it up to the sound out jack (the green one) from the sound card.
Now my motherboard has built in sound: SoundStormE/ Dolby® Digital Audio, but when i plug it in to the greem line out, the speakers don't work. When I plug in analog speakers or analog headphones it works. Also when I hook up my TV from the video board, the TV sound works. In the audio set up screen, there is a check box for digital out and analog out and it seems to be set up correctly, but no dice.
Besides the green lone out, there are front and rear speaker jacks on the mobo, but these don't work at all for anything it seems. I tried everything I could.
Anybody out there have any ideas?
The speakers only have digital input, there are apparently two versions of these speakers and Gateway sold me the cheaper ones! (They are quite nice sounding thought)
Thanks for any help you can give,
DAVE
