I have a set of Boston Acoustic digital speakers, model BA7500G. They are a 4.1 set and only work with a digital output. Until recently, these speakers worked just fine with my Sound Blaster Live card, both front and rear. I just bought a new computer which came with a Sound Blaster X-Fi Extreme card, and in the digital output mode the software only allows you to configure it to work with two speakers, whereas with my old card I was able to have sound coming out of all 4 speakers. Is this a software or hardware issue? If a software issue, what program can I install to configure the sound card to work with my digital speakers in the 4.1 channel mode? If a hardware issue, which Sound Blaster soundcard will support my setup? I don't have a problem upgrading to a better card, but I want to make sure it will work with all four speakers before trying it.
Thanks.

I have an SB Live card but I run it through my Carver amp (home stereo) and then to 4 custom buit speakers. If you run yours to an amp or a receiver, you can connect all your speakers. You just need a cable from the sound card that splits the channels. I paid about 10 USD for mine.

I don't have an amp that I can easily wire it to. Can anyone recommend another sound card that will support my speakers in 4.1 channel mode?
Thanks.
