Anyone know of a TV tuner card that is digital cable ready? That is, that I can watch digital cable channels on (PPV, HBO 1-3, etc.) on without having to go through my digital cable box (I am a legal subscriber)? I want to build a HTPC PVR box with gaming capabilities as well. For the TV PVR side, though, I don't want to be limited to just 120 channels or so analog, nor to having the TV card always tuned to channel 3 and have to control things from the digital box. Anyone know of a card that can handle that or can control the digital box itself too (that is, change channels, record from them, etc.)? Do you understand the dilemma and what I'm searching for to solve it? ANY solutions that lets me use digital cable, PPV and all, with a TV PVR card? Thanks a lot in advance, CrasH

Won't work. Someone could make a tuner card that went higher than 125 channels, which, by the way includes HBO on my system, but they couldn't legally supply the decoder needed to unscramble the signals. I think TIVO allows recording from any channel you subscribe to.

I would talk first to your cable company because there are 2 small problems... 1 security.. if your cable provider has none then good 4 you .. 2 what formate of digital.. it is a new and maybe pointless technology that people are rather going with sat then cable but what ever... then check out this sight.. Sorry there is no such device for sale. The only way u can get your hands on such a device would be, if you knew a genius or you are one.
