What is a Digital audio extraction error, after setting up an older computer to play mp3's on my stereo, I can't get it to convert CD's let alone play them. Windows' buitlt in cd-player works fine, but using Nero media player it says there is a digital audio extraction error. I tried win amp, it says it's playing it but there is no sound, windows media player says It isn't a valid format. The CD files are recognised as .CDA file formats. Is this normal? Can anyone help? Thanks.

Hi Andrew,

I had a CD drive which was fine but would not do DAE. I replaced it and the new one works OK.

Yes, it's normal for DOS/win to see the tracks as CDA files.
