diference between Athlon MP & XP

The XP is an MP with multiple CPU support disabled. There's a way to re-enable it, but I don't remember exactly how it's done.

You might be able to get MPs with more cache since they're intended to be used in servers, but XPs and MPs use the same cores, so they're essentially the same with the exception of SMP capabilities.

These processors are identical in architecture. Neither performs better than the other. Athlon MP processors, however, are guaranteed to work in a dual-processor configuration and in Athlon MP specific motherboards. Athlon XP CPUs do not carry this guarantee.
