Device Manager Not Responding

Hey, i've looked around computing.net and around the net, from google, to newsgroups. And i saw alot of people having this problem. It is, whenever i click on "control panel->System->Hardware tab->Device manager" it locks up and then i bring up the task manager and its using up 100% of my resources and is "not responding" can someone please tell me how to resolve this? thanx

chicken32, Try the possible solution at the link below. It doesn't address your exact problem but it's worth checking out and if plug and play is disabled enable it.

for one thing, you appear to be running XP with just 112MB RAM?
When is the last time you scanned for spyware, viruses, dumped crap files, defragged the HDD, used MSCONFIG to prevent programs from loading?

My copmputer actually runs really well with only 112ram everything runs peerfectly, programs have no slow downs...nothing, but its just this one problem that occurs
