Hi, I just bought a new SATA hard drive:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...I plugged it in (first time i do that). So when I started Windows i get notifications of the harddrive being installed, I can see it in my device manager...but I cannot see it in MY Computer (I cannot access it / select it).
Any ideas?
(Can it be a problem with the cables...although I assume I connect it properly since windows detects it)

It needs to be initialized (partitioned and formatted) before it can be seen in My Computer. Go to Disk Management to accomplish that. Right click My Computer > Manage > Storage > Disk Management.
The three most important things in computing:
1. Backups, 2. Backups and 3. Backups.
I tried that ..the thing is that in the Disk Management screen you cannot see the disk...the only place you can see it is the Device Manager... In the device manger I tried to uninstall it, disable it ..etc..
I went in BIOS and it is listed as second boot order after my main one. It is strange.
Oops..my bad ..I am a newb... actually the disk appears in the
My Computer > Manage > Storage > Disk Management but one has to look harder on bottom part of screen not upper. Thanks
