I just recently took apart my PC peice by peice to fix the way my Motherboard fits in (wich was in worng before) but before i had my PC (same one) running fine but with the typical MICROSOFT BSOD's. That doesnt really have anything to do with this. I am very experianced with building computers. When i power up my PC it says "detecting IDE drives" then its frozen i can access BIOS setup. I had tryed different IDE cabbles the switches (master switch) are CORRECT my RAM is good and my BIOS and motherboard is FULLY updated. It worked fine before i re-built my PC. Please Help Thanks...

It sounds like maybe a cable isn't on right or not straight. Check to make sure you have pin 1 to pin 1 on the ribbon cables. Do you have power to the drives? I know, simple stuff. ALso, make sure the memory is firmly plugged in, until it locks. You made sure the mobo isn't shorted anywhere, right? In your BIOS setup, is there an auto detect setting? that will usually setup your drives for you. I hope this helps, and good luck. :)

Check for bent pins. Try connecting one drive at a time.

Is it possible the drive or board got an electrical stroke???

Remove everything not really needed and then add the drives one at a time. Check for correct jumper settings because some drives (Western Digital for example) have different jumper settings for master with and without slave!
