It WILL do that 2 or 3 times during an O/S installation. Try re-installing the O/S, make sure, after the first re-start, it is set to boot from the HDD, not the CD.

So when you turn it on, there are no fans on, no hard drive activity, no lights on or anything like that? If so, have you got/can you get another PSU to try?

I would unplug you're hard drive (ide and molex connectors) and see if you can still hear the clicking. If so, try another PSU and see. You will have to narrow down tne problem.

http://www.bootdisk.com/bootdisk.htm

Do you have a 3.5 floppy disk drive?

Can you boot from the floppy disk with a bootdisk?

The file you download from bootdisk.com is used to make a bootable floppy when you double click on it.

so, you're bios is ok then. change the boot device priority to cdrom/hdd/disabled(or whatever). put in your o/s disk, save and exit. when booting this time, itshould ask you to press any key to boot from cd, do this. Go through the format proccess and install windows. When ever it restarts now whilst you are loadind windows, DO NOT boot from cd if it asks, just let it run and it should boot from you're hard drive and carry on where it left off.

You need to have functional hardware and a legal operating system. You have neither.

I see more often on this site that people choose to abuse, judge and mock other people rather than try to help them which this forum is SUPPOSED to be for. As I have already pointed out "the person who built the pc put an illigel OS on and we could not get updates and all the good stuff so i had to get a OS cd", Wero already has a genuine copy of windows. If the time was taken to read the posts rather than spent assassinating a persons character. You may have noticed what was posted days ago.
