Specs: Window 7 Ultimate 64 bit, Intel Core 2 Quad Q8300 @ 2500MHz/ 8gig ddr2
Yesterday morning I was able to boot up my computer normally and then I shut it off to go to work and when I came home, it won't boot up anymore. It would get to the ASUS logo with the option to enter setup and boot selection. I tried to select it from the boot selection and it just takes me to a black screen saying insert boot media then push any key. I have tried taking out all the power wire for 20 and the plugging them back in. I also tried a system recovery using the restore disk. It was able to restore the hard drive but it still will not load. Pls help me as I need the computer to do my college papers and my electronic projects.

System Specs:
Asus CG 5270
Intel core 2 quad Q8300 @ 2500MHz
8 gig ddr2 ram
Nvidia geforce gt 220
1 750gig sata 1 200gig sata
Window 7 ultimate

Try to boot to a live cd/dvd and see if it works at all. I'd copy any data off if you can access it then troubleshoot the issue.

Why did it take me over a year to phone in a problem to ATT?

What do you mean by live cd? I tried to boot it from an external hard drive with windows 7 on it but it still doesn't work.

I have the exact same problem.
Was the solution found?
I suspect it's something to do with the hard drive...

When powering up, the normal hard drive sounds can't be heard.
I can't chose to boot from the hard drive either, from the menu I get when holding down ESC when booting.

I don't have access to a recovery cd or a live cd/dvd...
