Looks like your hard disk is failing.

First run chkdsk and see if that does anything.

If not, download and run the hard disk diagnostics from the hard disk manufactures web site.

Does anything at all now show on the screen? If so what is the last thing displayed?

You can't run check disk or disk diagnostics if it won't boot up. You have no display, no connection to the internet, etc.

You are probably right that it may be the hard disk, but you can't get there from here.

Thanks any way.

The computer will usually display even if the hard drive is failing. But to make sure, disconnect the power cord, open up the case and disconnect all the drives and temporarily remove any add-on cards. Then see if the screen will display anything when you start it up. If so then one of the removed items is at fault. If not then the problem is with the power supply or motherboard.

"Power supply goood"

How did you know that? Just because a couple of fans spin or LEDs light up doesn't confirm the PSU is good. Try disconnecting the HDD & see if the POST screen comes up. Also, please list your system specs.

Try booting into Windows safe mode by continuously tapping F8 at start up.
