Dell latitude usb ports not working

Specs: Windows 7, 1.60Ghz/1024Mb ram
I have a dell latitude d600 and today my usb ports just stopped working. I plugged my usb mouse up and the red light comes on but no mouse. Same with my external hard drive it turns on but the laptop will not detect them

See hardware properties and use the show hidden for details.

Might see clues in event logs.

I'd turn off to full power off, remove ac the press power button a few times then remove all usb devices and power up. Then attach one usb device to see if you had an overload condition.

If software issue then use restore point.

1/3 of highway deaths are caused by drunks. The rest are by people who can't drive any better than a drunk.
