Dell Latitude E5400 shutting down at random

Dell / Latitude e5400
January 13, 2011 at 12:42:54
Specs: Windows XP, intel core 2 / 4GB ram
I have had this Latitude for almost 2 years now, and it is shutting down completely at random points during a day. I have the battery out and run a cooling pad underneath, yet it still seems to do it.
I have run virus scans with no problems.
The wireless connection will connect and disconnect at random and frequently after an hour or so of being on and the lcd has gone bad. Is there any hope for this machine?

Get some compressed air and blow out the fans, it could have lots of dust in there that would cause it to overheat, even if you use a cooling pad. Also, the AC adapter may not be putting out full power so you may want to try another one.

One more thing to try is to run memtest and see if you have faulty ram.

Some HELP in posting on plus free progs and instructions Cheers
