I had no power whatsoever with the battery or AC adapter. The laptop is DEAD! I have taken it apart, using the service manual, right down to the system board assembly. My question is when you turn the system board over on the back side it has "DIMM A" and "DIMM B", is there suppose to be some kind of board or something in either one or the other slot? It looks to me that something should be in the slots? I was wondering if this is why it does not work. This computer has worked recently but I believe it has been taken apart since then. I was told by someone it was the motherboard that has a problem. I'm just wondering if maybe something had forgotten to get put back into the system board. Thanks for your help.

It sounds like the memory is missing. Yes, I mean the memory that belongs in the laptop, although the tech's memory must be missing too.

I'm willing to bet that it won't work 'till you install some RAM.

Right. Seems a bit extreme to take it apart before verifying that the obvious components (RAM, HDD) are installed properly.

Life's more painless for the brainless.

OK-So where all not computer geeks like you. I thought this site was for helpful information, not to make comments about things that a normal person might not know. So with that thought, I will take my questions elsewhere. People who critize other people who try, should not be giving any of there opinions or answers. Keep your criticism to yourself!

Calm down and cool off dude. You're not gonna get a PC to come on, much less work without RAM installed. Nothing I said was meant to criticize you in anyway. If you take your question elsewhere, you'd better get used to the same answer and "criticism."

"I thought this site was for helpful information, not to make comments about things that a normal person might not know."

It IS also for making comments about things that a normal person might not know. It's called help, not criticism.
