hello,
i believe this system is hot. no service tags hence no dell support. however, if any of you might have had the pleasure of compromising a dell laptop with success please be the guru that you are and divulge you wizardly ways. i have already removed the cmos battery for a full 24 hours with no success. longer? what else could there be? i looked all over the mobo for a jumper but there are none. Inspiron 8100. even if it wasn't hot this info is much needed.

adam,
It didn't work. It will not boot to any drive unless administrative password is entered. Is there anyway to disipate the power to draing out the NVRAM after unplugging the CMOS battery?
Thanks anyways dave

only way out is to get another bios chip that is locate in memory place. Only Dell write password in flash memory, you can not clear with remove batery or jumper
