I have a Dell Latitude CPx laptop and the 8,i,k and comma keys do not work

The keyboard connector may have come loose inside the laptop, or the circuit track that connects those specific keys may have a break.

The keys are in somewhat of a line. Maybe a bad trace?

Maybe Underdog, it's easy to fix with the right equipment.

dell is pretty cheap with replacement keyboards as well..

It is the faulty connector on the keyboard.

Call up Dell Tech Support & report the case,
if the system still under warranty, they'll replace the keyboard for u, if not then u might need to purchase another keyboard from DELL.

Temporary solution is to plug in an external keyboard :)

Interesting. I have the exact same problem with a Dell Inspiron 3800 keyboard. The problem occurs intermittently. I can fix it temporarily by pressing down hard on the "i" key.

Did you find a replacement keyboard? Where did you get it.....and how much did you pay?
