Dell laptop keyboard key does not work

Specs: Windows XP

hi,
I have a DELL Inspiron 1545 laptop.
Only one the keys on my keyboard does not work.
What could be the faulty?
How do I fix this? Please help!

Try plugging in a usb keyboard and see if everything works fine. You may just need to replace your laptop's keyboard.
