Hi, My Dell Inspiron 1720 will not turn on when I go to power it up. I replaced the power supply this week. The one I bought on E-Bay which was for Dell Inspiron 1440-1750. I thought it was for everything in between. Did I screw my computer. Or is there a solution to get it going.
Thanks for the reply, The only reason I am thinking this is because the battery is fully charged but the system will not power up. When you hit the power button the light comes on then shuts off. So I am thinking I might of fried something. The input on the system says Input is 19.5V 4.62A The Power supply I purchased says output 19.5V 3.34A So maybe this was it. But I am not sure. Any suggestions?
I don't think you fried anything. The voltage is correct, but the amperage is under the old one, so you didn't fry it. You may have to have a shop check it out. It's really hard to do without the proper tools. Good Luck.
