Dell Inspiron laptop keyboard not working

Specs: Windows Vista
my kid has split liquid on the keyboard of DELL INSPIRON 1545, no keys working, After shutdown the laptop and remov battery, spend time to dry up the liquid, when i restarted to shows me on prompt that the system overheated, and system does not shut down correctly, choose the following option, F1, F2 or F5 to select, but none of the keys are striking.
do i need to replace the keyboard?
Please please help me

It is easy to replace a laptop keyboard. Use usb or ps/2 desktop keyboard.
