I have issue with my Inspiron 5450 Laptop, which is just 1.2 year old. The Laptop does not power, in place of three green lights one yellow light comes up, even removing battery also does not help. Dell Tech support says – probably mother board is gone bad, and the cost of replacement is about $500. My questions are:
1. How do I ensure if the note book power supply is not the problem?
2. What is the best way (dell support/compusa/local PC repair shop - cheaper and reliable) to fix the Laptop motherboard?
3. Any other ideas to diagnose and fix the issue? Thanks in advance,

Removing it and trying another one... But I doubt u have a replacement one, because its like its easy to find a compatible one.
2. What is the best way (dell support/compusa/local PC repair shop - cheaper and reliable) to fix the Laptop motherboard?
If its Guarantee is still valid then theres no question, use it. If its not then Dell support should be it... since nobody knows best a computer than its creator..
Well that's what I'd do...
3. Any other ideas to diagnose and fix the issue?
sometimes, some defective devices block the motherboard from turning on... try disconnnectin drives, and swtching between ram modules...
regards
