Recently, my fan has been running very high. The computer is not even hot and it continually runs, very loudly. It also makes my computer run very slow. I had the fan replaced by Dell last week, and the problem has continued. Please advise on what steps I should take next. Thanks!

1st of all, it always helps when you state that your question is about a laptop.

It sounds to me like your system is running slow because the CPU is overheating & it's throttling to protect itself from burning out. It could be that your laptop is loaded with spyware & CPU useage is constantly at 100%

Check the CPU useage in task manager to know for sure.

Thanks for your responses! My CPU usage is running high...I ran a system scan using Ewido..it found infections and I removed them. The fan is still running however. Do you know how else to lower the CPU usage?
