Solved Dell E1505 Keyboard works sporatically

Dell / E1505 inspiron

Specs: Windows XP SP3, 2.24/512mb
My laptop keyboard works when I first log in, but thereafter when I reach the desktop it will not work. If I hold down a key after 2-3 seconds it will type that letter depending on my setting of how fast a key repeats itself. I have done a few diagnostic tests F12 on start up and F8 to check to see if the keyboard had any special settings that I could adjust, but it didnt. I have not uninstalled anything and dont think my keyboard is completely faulty as it works to put my password in. My battery doesnt have much life left, but it does the same thing with the battery out of my laptop. I have tried resetting the motherboard and left the battery out for several minutes and reinstalled it, but both didnt help either.

Anyone have an idea of what the issue is?

I'd boot to a live cd to test it again on another OS. Then go from there.

1/3 of highway deaths are caused by drunks. The rest are by people who can't drive any better than a drunk.

I downloaded the Hiren's BootCD and I was able to type normally, but how do I locate and remove the bug/virus that is causing my problem? I am going through all of the Hiren's anti-virus and spyware programs as I am trying to avoid having to wipe my system and rebuild it from scratch. Any suggestions?
