Hi, I have a Dell Dimension 4600 with 4 DIMM slots with dual-channel support. Currently has 512MB DDR PC3200 on DIMM slot 1. Wanted to add another 512MB for a total of 1GB.
I brought another 512MB DDR PC3200 & installed it in DIMM slot 3 for dual-channel as color coded. Booted up to a blank screen with error beeps. I tried the new 512 RAM by itself in DIMM slot 1 and it works fine.
Then I tried every possible arrangement & I just can't get the 2 to work together. DIMM slot 1/2, 3/4, 1/3, & 2/4. Any idea?
