Dell Latitude D610 bios password . I looked for a coin shaped cmos battery to no avail. Trying to get past a forgotten bios password. Any way to short out the cmos battery ?

Amazing what happens when....

went to Dell and searched for it:

Pre-Googling should be a requirement before posting.

You can avoid many of these Windows problems with Linux. Linspire eases the transition for new users

forget cmos battery, software cracks and all the norm ways to get around bios passwords, this is how you do it- the nv 8 pin chip for bios is located next to the cmos battery just underneath the laptops outer case, u need to completely pull the laptop apart and short pin 3 and 6 togeather and try to turn the laptop on, now un short the pins and...... turn it on again....... wow, no bios password any more.
