Hello all,

I've searched but haven't been able to find a definitive answer. I am computer savvy, but when it comes to hardware, I am definitely a novice and therefore, extremely cautious.

My friend gave me a dead Dell Dimension 2400 (hers was newer than mine and had more memory). I want to take the memory from the 2400 and insert it into the 4400 but I haven't been able to determine if they're compatible.

Does anyone know?

And if they are compatible, does the following link illustrate how to remove/add the memory correctly?

Thanks all, greatly appreciated.

dell d2400 it have better specs than d4400.
The max memory surpoted is 1gb (2 x 512mb) ddr1 non-ecc for d4400.
If u have p4 400fsb, ddr266 is required.
Max memory support for d2400 is 2gb (2x1gb).
How to install memory
-shutdown system
-remove power cord
-open pc case side panel
-locate ram slots
-install ram correct (make sure ram is locked by two locks)
