Dell Computer turns itself on at 7:15 am

Hi I just purchased a "refurbished" computer. seems all good - its a Dell with windows XP. It however turns itsself on every weekday at 7:15. anyone know how I can stop this? (bar turning power off) Thanks

I would check to see if you have any "Wake on Lan" settings set in the bios. Usually you can get into the bios by hitting F1 or F2 or esc on bootup. Hire a Geek - Computer Help

To test, tonight remove the ethernet cable/usb modem. To be more energy consious you might also put all that computer stuff on a power strip. All wall warts and usb devices should be on that power strip. Turn it all off when you are not using it. "Best Practices", Event viewer, host file, perfmon, antivirus, anti-spyware, Live CD's, backups, are in my top 10
