It generally means it is not detecting the hard drive, so it has nothing to boot/load up from. Has anyone changed the boot order in the bios? If there are no old floppies or cd/dvd's in the unit, and it states no bootable device, you need to have the hard drive tested. You can download the hard drive test utility from the maker of the hard drive, make a bootable cd and test the drive; sometimes the bios has a hard disk diagnostic (not always, and not always reliable) or take it and have it tested.

You can check the cabling to make sure the hard disk pluggins have not come loose.
