Comment: I've got a dead bios battery and I've ordered a replacement---looking at the laptop I see it's connected by wires in the mem' compartment and tucked up under the case...do I just pull the battery out from under the lip where it's hidden, unhitch the wiring harness and then reverse the procedure to replace or are there some tricks/tips I should know before doing the surgery? This old laptop works well and I don't want to mess it up. Thanks, Jim.

Reply: (edit)Sorry, I must have been dreaming! My desktop at home is my own creation but of course I wasn't refering to the laptop..in fact I now see that I called it a "DELL" 600E! It should read IBM 600E. Sorry about any confusion, the "homebuilt" tag is in my profile and it got added automatically. Now, any ideas on the battery swap-out? Jim.
