Deleted Files / Now Nothing on Screen

Specs: Windows XP
I was cleaning up "old" software on my laptop today through the control panel and now when I rebooted my laptop I get the window's sound and then a blue screen. Nothing else. Please Help Me!

weird that the Control Panel (Add/Remove Programs, right?) would let you uninstall anything critical to functionality unless it was drivers.

so, can you boot into Safe Mode? Power off, leave it dark for about 30 seconds, power on and tap F8 until you see a list of boot options. Choose Safe Mode.

If you can get into Windows in Safe Mode, you removed a required driver. Go to Computer Management, Device Manager, and see if there are any hardware devices with a yellow triangle. Reinstall drivers for this component.

What did you remove? Can you boot to Safe Mode?

I thought I had just removed some "old" programs like Quicken 2002, an "old" program for a Canon camera -- things like that. I can get into safe mode using the F8 key.
