delayed response when typing. Is this virus?

February 22, 2011 at 20:42:05
Specs: Windows 7, 8GB
When I type most times, there is a delayed response and I type the word and sometimes it takes a full minute before it fills in. I can actually take my hands off the keyboard and wait and then it will fill it in. It seems like after I use a registry cleaner it helps, but goes back to doing this before too long.

It happens in email, letters, even just signing on? Could this be keyboard or virus

Do a full virus & malware scan. Run MSCONFIG & disable unnecessary startup apps.

great news. I found the answer. It was on another site, and it was the way the keyboard setting were in the filters. OMG, why don't they just leave the simple settings as the default. Why on earth would anyone want delayed typing ?

Now that is another question. Which start ups can I disable. ? And all those updates and things that install themselves, in add and remove programs. What can I safely get rid of? I wish someone would do a screenshot of what we can and cannot remove.

I've seen this issue on machines that have a bad (as in scratched) CD or DVD disk in the DVD/CD ROM which causes system lags, because the DVD/CD ROM cannot read the scratched disk.

You also could have a failing HDD (hard disk drive). Does your HDD light stay on?

Is the system overheating maybe also?

MOOOOooove! OH and you're welcome!
