dedicated video memory problems

Specs: Windows 7
I want to play Grand Theft Auto III on my desktop but it says I need at least 12MB of video memory when I try to launch it so I went to check my graphics card and it said I have 256MB of video memory and 0 dedicated video memory. Is there any way I can add to my dedicated video memory? Can someone please help me?

Purchase a gaming level graphics card. If you have 0 dedicated video memory then you are using onboard or on-chip graphics. Understand that you may also need an upgraded power supply to power it as well.
Post your detailed system specs for a reasonable recommendation.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
