Hi ... my PC will not turn on ! If i open box up & switch on using power supply switch, nothing happens BUT i do get some lights on the motherboard come on.

It could be a bad power supply, but keep in mind that when you power up, the motherboard checks all the voltages. If any voltages are out of tolerance (or missing) it will not allow the power supply to stay up.
So if the motherboard is dead, it will also cause the power supply to appear to be bad.
