What is better/faster PC800 RD-RAM or DDR-RAM PC2700. (and value for money)
Would having 1GB of PC133 SD-RAM be faster than a machine with 256MB of the fastest memory.

Rambus is faster then DDR DDR is faster then SDRAM
Yet running 512 MB of CAS2 SDRAM will out perform a system running 256MB DDR in most cases.
The first Q is find out what RAM your motherboard takes. I have not see a Rambus MoBo yet that could even use SDRAM or DDR on it.
There are boards that can use either SDRAM or DDR.

There are no motherboards that support RAMBUS as well as one of the others.
I agree with the above post.
Also note that some RAMBUS motherboards require the use of continuity modules if you do not use all the memory slots.
I.e. If you have a board that has 4 RAMBUS slots and you only put a RIMM module in one, you'll have to put a continuity module in each of the other three slots otherwise there will be no flow of datd and it'll be as if there is no memory fitted.
