Can i install 2048MB (1x2048) DDR2 SDRAM 800MHz on Compaq SR5080CF CTO PC a SIMM slot.I plan to upgrade to 4 MB with (2048x2) 800MHz DDR2 SDRAM
PC = 4 SIMM slot
comes with (256x2) 533 MHz DDR@ SDRAMWhat happen if i install a (2048x1) DDR2 SDRAM on a SMM slot, will it damage the PC or it just won't boot

According to Crucial that board can only use 4 x 1gb (1024 NOT 2048)sticks of PC2-5300.

They are NOT SIMM slots, they're DIMM slots!
"What will happen if i install a (2048x1) DDR2 SDRAM on a SIMM slot, will it damage the PC or it just won't boot"
Crucial states, "Each memory slot can hold DDR2 PC2-5300 with a maximum of 1GB per slot." I can't tell you for sure what will happen but it's highly unlikely you'll damage anything. My guess is either the system will refuse to boot or the 2GB stick will be recognized as 1GB.

HP, Crusial and you are all wrong! I've installed a 1x2048MB DDR2 800MHz in a DIMM slot it is all ok .
My Compaq Presario SR5080CF CTO now have
1x2048MB 800MHz, 2x512MB 667MHz and a 1x256MB 533MHz of DDR2 Dram.
