Hi, can I use 400 or 434mhz DDR Ram in a motherboard that only supports 222/266/333. Obviously it wont run at 400 or 434mhz but will the Ram operate???. I want to buy the fastest ram I can afford now for future upgradability.

Memory is passive and is driven by the motherboard at the speed the motherboard dictates. DDR memory speed is a statement of how fast the memory can possibly be driven. If the motherboard runs at 133x2 = 266 and the memory is rated at 400, the memory will run automatically at 266.
