I believe, RDRAM is a WHOLE LOT faster. Also LOT More money. If you can afford it, RDRAM is the one to go for. If not, DDR is still very fast at the tope end of the DDR scale.

There is a difference though between DDR and RD regarding bandwidth. DDR: 2.142 gigs/second. RDRAM 1.6 gigs/second. I'm not exactly sure what this means, but thats a pretty bug difference. I suggest you research that before you buy a new PC/Mother board.

koby, i don't know the Bandwidth bout DDR if you said it's 2.142GiGs/second. then i guess so, but you forgot that RDRAM has to be use in pair 1.6gigs/second will be 3.2gigs/second. But yet RDRAM PC1066 is one of the RDRAM that can use ONLY one and it will still works. RDRAM is much better than DDR specially the PC1066.

I havent had any experience with ddr yet but i have with rdram just 3 days ago.

What an expensive nightmare. In the end im stuck with two 64mb sticks of pc800. According to ebays average resell price it would cost me more to ship them than i could sell them for.

Ive read tons of stuff about one vs the other. The undeducated consensus is that rdram isnt worth the price difference.

In the end its all ersonal preference.. Some advice.. Start with as big a stick as possible. It might cost extra up front but will save you in the long run.

RDRAM is expansive and it is also faster than DDR. Almost all the motherboard now is heading for DDR instead of RD cuase RDRAM is way too expansive. But yet i got 1 Gig of RDRAM. : )
