Solved date taken created and modified are all the same

Specs: Windows 7
lets say nov 6th 2010 was my pictures date taken created and downloaded to my computer from my phone. is it safe to say it isnt a picture from five yrs prior

I did not understand the question properly.

If you want to know the date the computer will show for the file, it would be the date the file was copied on the system. Computer also keeps the information of when the file was last modified.

If you want to know the date the photograph was taken you need to look inside the file. Right click on the file and select properties > details.

Depending on the camera used to take the photograph it will give information of the picture. Under origin is should give you the date the picture was taken. A good camera will also give you information on shutter speed, aperture, ISO speed and a lot of other information.

This only applies to the original photograph as it came out of the camera. One you modify and save the file, this information is lost. So it is always a good idea to keep the original digital photograph so as to preserve this information
