date modified/date created

i was looking through some pics and the date created had --- following it while date modifed had a date. for instance:

date created: ---
date modified: August 8, 1009

does this mean the date modified is the same as date created?

I don't think so. My 'guess' is that you have a flaky hard drive or flaky RAM.

Boot into the BIOS screens and check to date and time in there.

There probably was no 'date created' info associated with the picture file. The 'date modified' was probably when it was downloaded to the computer.
